The Thieves Guild Of Aberlo
by Doragon Kishu
The old man was dying…
Sir Baron Kelderecth the Third.
Master of Thieves…
All that he had built around him…
1,200 Thieves belonged to his Thieve’s Guild, ‘SHADOWS’.
From the darkest, seediest parts of the City Aberlo…
… to the districts of the Nobles.
Not a pocket was safe.
But in the end, it was his son Eldess Kelderecth, the Prince of Rohdan’s Personal Advisor, who the Thief Master longed to see, as he entered the final days of his life.
Eldess had been told at the age of five that his Father had died in the War of Otran, a hero, battling the onslaught of Orc’s and Giants from the North…
He’d been told a lie.
But this lie drove him to achieve greatness…
…and greatness he has achieved.
But he’s about to find out news that will change his life forever…
Returning to his luxurious chambers in the Prince’s Castle after a long day at his Hignesses side, two dark figures are awaiting him…
They throw a sack over his head, and tie his hands behind his back, gagging him so that he can’t make a sound.
Defiant, they end up having to knock him unconscious with a club.
His Father would not be pleased, but the Shadows was not a union of delicate ambassadors of the Thievery Ways…
No… They were cutthroats… Dangerous in all ways.
When Eldess woke, he was tied to a chair facing a great majestic bed…
…in it was Sir Baron Kelderecht, Master Thief of the Shadows.
“What… What am I doing here?” spoke Eldess, the back of his head throbbing from the earlier blow.
“Eldess my boy… I can’t believe it’s you,” replied the Baron.
“Do I know you?” Eldess asked.
“No… And sadly, you never well,” spoke the Baron as he coughed and held a soft white silk rag over his mouth.
Specks of blood could be seen on it.
“Are you alright?” asked Eldess.
“Oh yes… Quite,” replied the Master Thief with a slight smile.
It was then that Eldess looked over his shoulder where two darkly clad, hooded figures guarded the door to the chambers.
“I really don’t know what you want… Is it money?” Eldess asked.
“No… Money I have… It’s you I want… To rule the ‘Shadows…”.
Eldess stared in disbelief.
“The Shadows? As in, the Thieves Guild of Aberlo?” Eldess questioned in disbelief.
“Yes my boy…” replied the Baron, appearing to be becoming more and more tired.
“But I am no Thief?” Eldess questioned…
“No you are not… But you are my Son,” the Master Thief responded.
