Tch’ahm Ba’er (Land Races & Characters)
Chapter I – To Tch’ahm Ba’er
Chapter II – Welcome To Hammen
CHAPTER III – Mercenaries
Aden, Blue and Rune sat in the well lit, and festive Hammen Inn.
It looked to be a very clean, and friendly place…
…and it was packed.
Never had Blue seen so many Gnomes…
They were everywhere.
But beyond that, there were 6 private boothes, black curtains drawn, as 5 of them were in use.
Other than that, there were two humans, one looked to be a fanciful Fighter, but wore a mask and hood…
…and another was hooded, and sat at the bar.
There was one more who had the look of a human, but not the scent nor feel, Blue’s senses told her so.
Whether it was her Elvish, or Druid senses, or both.
Rune leaned over to Blue, as Aden ordered the three of them drinks.
“The Warrior looks to be a Dervish…” he spoke.
Blue in turn looked to be perplexed.
“A prestigious Fighter… Someone who demands, and receives respect,” he explained.
Blue nodded in understanding.
“The hooded fellow at the bar I’m sure is a Ranger, judging by the long ash bow leaned against the counter next to him,” he continued.
“But I can’t get a reading on the third one.”
“Lycanthrope I think…” suddenly inserted Blue…
…and with this the dark eyed stranger peered their way.
Blue merely nodded in knowing, and the stranger responded the same.
The drinks are served.
“So, tell me… How did my brother die…” speaks Aden grimly.
“I can’t be sure… But it looked like he may have been ambushed by a party of four bandits or such,” she replies.
“Hmm,” Aden replies.
“Did your brother have any enemies?” Interjected Rune as he swallows down his goblet of wine in one gulp.
“Like I say… The life of an adventurer… Anything’s possible.”
“He said… He was trying to come and stop you from going to Tch’ahm Ba’er,” she finished.
Aden merely looked at Blue at this.
“Why are you here Aden?” asked Blue.
Aden took a deep breath, and a swig of his ale.
“Originally me, and my two comrades Madrean, a Dragonborn Cleric, and a Warder Paladin of the Green Light Order named Sabre, were heading here together,” he began.
“The three of you are adventuring here? Seeking treasure?” asked Blue.
“Basically…” Responds Aden.
“No disrespect, but I find it a bit odd a Paladin hunting for treasure…” interjects Rune.
“He’s not… He’s here for the Red Dragon Droah… He’s pretty intense about Evil beings…” Aden explains.
“I see,” replies Rune with a troubled brow.
“And he’s protective of me and Madrean, who do hunt for treasure…” he continues.
“Madrean is a good being… But… He’s a bit… Restless, I’ll leave it at that…” he finishes.
“And on that note…” Aden stands.
“It’s time I found them… In truth, they should have been registered here, in this Inn, but the Inn Keeper insures me they’re not,” he explains.
“Foul play?” questions Rune?
“I’m not sure… But I doubt it… I thank you Blue for my brother’s sword… I am in your debt…” with this Aden bows, and leaves the tavern.
“What do you think?” asks Blue.
“My better judgment says we don’t let a solo Archer head blindly into the hills of Hammen, which are very poorly protected by the way…” Rune replies.
“I tend to agree…” responds Blue.
She stands, “Do me a favor… Attempt to hire that Dervish and the Ranger…” She plops down a sack of 50 gold on the table.
“I’m going to speak to Aden.”
Blue steps outside and approaches her gear which is in a locked holding box outside the Inn.
She takes out a key and unlocks it.
From inside she pulls out a covered cage, and lifts the cover…
…within if is her grey falcon, NOR.
She quickly writes a note, takes Nor out of his cage, and puts it in one of his claws.
She makes a few screeching sounds, and Nor flies off.
Minutes later Rune steps outside with the Dervish behind him.
The Dervish takes off their mask and hood, and reveals that they are in fact a woman with short dark hair and violet eyes like a gypsy.
She gives Blue a broad smile.
“It went well,” Blue says to Rune.
Rune smiles a third time in one day just as the Ranger steps outside his hood still drawn.
“It did…” responds Rune.

Chapter I – To Tch’ahm Ba’er
Chapter II – Welcome To Hammen
Aden stood before Blue and she could hardly believe it… Could she have found him so quickly… Even before arriving at Hammen, and the land of Tch’ahm Ba’er?
“Brother to Esqsa?” she replied.
Hearing this definitely peaked the Elve’s interest.
Aden glanced at Rune, his foreboding black dragonborn from being not that easy to ignore, and back to Blue again.
“And who, may I ask, are you two?” spoke Aden.
“Forgive me… My name is Blue, I’m an Initiate of the First Circle,” she replied.
“And I am Rune, The Protector,” interjected Rune with his deep gravely voice, and a slight smile.
His second smile of the day, which was all so unlike him.
Aden glanced at Rune once more, then back to Blue.
“An Elvish Druid?” he stated, and slightly inquired.
“Yes,” Blue planely replied.
“I see…” responded Aden.
“And how do you know my brother?” he asked.
A sad look came over Blue, “He asked me to give you this,” she handed Aden a leather wrapped sword.
Aden looked down at the blade, and without looking up or unwrapping it…
“Then he is…” he spoke, barely audible.
“Dead… Yes… He was slain in near the Kay na rue Forest, where I live.”
Suddenly the Captain’s Mate rang the ships bell.
“HAMMEN! PREPARE FOR PORT! ALL ASHORE GOING TO SHORE!”
Rune made note, but Aden was lost in thought.
“I’m sorry for your loss…” Blue spoke with her soft tone.
“As am I friend,” interjected Rune as he smacked one of his great hands down upon Aden’s shoulder.
“Yes… Well… Such is the life of the Adventurer… Right?” he replied, and placed his brother’s sword with his bags and gear.
“Will you let me buy the two of you a drink at the Old Hammen Inn on shore?” requested Aden, and the two, out of respect if nothing else, could not deny him.

Voyage Of The Druid Blue
Chapter I – To Tch’ahm Ba’er
by Doragon Kishu
Blue looks out over the dark Formo Sea…
They were only a few hours from arriving in the ports of The Hammen, home to the Hammen Gnomes, in the land of Tch’ahm Ba’er.
Tch’ahm Ba’er was a large land mass, though technically some call it an island…
It was much larger than what one normally would consider an island.
There were 26 different territories, filled with 12 different types of people, or races, from Goblins, to Elves, to Mermen to Human.
Not to mention the Lair of the Red Dragon DROAH, and an all powerful Storm Giant.
No, Tch’ahm Ba’er was much more than an island.
And somewhere upon it might, I say might, be ESQSA’S brother, ADEN…
And she must deliver the fallen Esqsa’s sword to him.
“How Did I Get In Such A Situation” she wondered to herself.
“You Wanted Adventure, You Got It,” she thought in jest.
“You look lost,” suddenly came a gravely voice.
She looked to see, to her amazement, a black skinned Dragonborn, in like black platemail armour, by the name of RUNE.
“No more lost than anyone else,” she quietly replied.
Rune was so pleased with her response, he almost smiled… as best a Dragonborn can.
He steps over to stand beside her…
…at his side is a long two handed mace, glowing slightly blue at the end.
Rune is a large specimen, 6’4″ tall, weighing some 270lbs… But only a bit over the average of any given Dragonborn.
“I am Rune… The Protector–“
“–A Paladin…” Blue finished his sentence for him.
“Yes… I suppose I am,” he replied.
She notices his shield is completely black.
“You have no banner?” she speaks.
Rune nods his head, “You are a perceptive one.”
Blue on the other hand is 5’7″, weighing 115 pounds, as elves are lean, and light…
Her most telling trait was her deep blue hair.
In her left hand she leans on a crooked wooden staff…
Looking more like a tree branch, but polished none the less.
She wears dark brown leather armour, and a dark green hooded cloak, with light brown boots.
She pulls the hood down, and begins to relax…
Something about the Dragonborn seems to put her at ease.
“What business have you in Tch’ahm Ba’er…” she spoke in a friendly, yet still quiet tone.
“Who me? I’ve come to slay the dragon,” he says gregariously.
They both begin to laugh…
“I don’t believe you,” she interjects.
“No I… I’ve come for solace… In hopes a bit of it will deliver me some direction,” he replies.
“I see…” she calmly acknowledges.
“What about you?” he questions warmly.
“I’m looking for a High Elf by the name of Aden…”
Suddenly an Elf with light blue eyes, and white hair, wearing thick black and green leather armour, turns and looks at her…
“I am Aden…”

MT. (MOUNT) HHAD (Hhad)
The Green Orcs are standard D & D Orcs. The Red, Black and White Orcs I created in my Homebrew Land several years back. There are 1,200 Green Orcs, 240 Red Orcs, 20 Black Orcs and 50 White Orcs in Mt. Hhand.
In addition to the large number of Orcs in Mt. Hhad, they are also allied with 16 Frost Giants and 60 Ogres
The Black Orcs of Mt. Hhand await someone to Lead them to further conquering of Tch’ahm Ba’er territories. Until then, they are ready.
RED ORCS; Basically, Red Orcs are the Engineers… Their Alignment is Neutral, all they care about is their work. Kind of like Dwarves. They run and build the Catapults, Bridges Etc. They are however smarter, stronger and wiser than Green Orcs.
BLACK ORCS; Black Orcs are the Generals… And sometimes Champions. They are highly Intelligent, extremely strong, and just plain tough to kill. They are Lawful Evil. Very Noble beings. However, they generally don’t Rule. They often function under the orders of some Great Sorcerous/Sorcerer/Necromancer or some other sort of Dark Leader, Human or other.
WHITE ORCS; White Orcs exist primarily in cold terrain. They are stronger and smarter than Red Orcs, but not as strong or smart as Black Orcs. They are however the most Dexterous of Orcs. They are Hunters. They are very hard to kill. They follow orders, but they do not blend in.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE POSTED HERE
Imagine a game of Dungeons & Dragons between Ellie from The Last of Us, Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney, and Knuckles from Sonic the Hedgehog, with Overwatch’s McCree serving as dungeon master. While that scenario isn’t going to happen, a D&D campaign featuring the actors who lend their voices to those characters has been running for more than a year, attracting millions of viewers.
This article originally appeared in issue 285 of Game Informer.
The idea for Critical Role came from a game of Dungeons & Dragons that was started as a part of actor Liam O’Brien’s birthday celebration.
“Liam hadn’t played for a while, and I was running games,” says dungeon master Matthew Mercer. “I was like, ‘Hey man, if you want to play, let’s get some friends together,’ and so we did a one-off that turned into a campaign because everybody enjoyed themselves so much.”
Two years after that original game, TV and movie actress Ashley Johnson was shooting a web series called Spooked with actress Felicia Day, who was serving as executive producer. Day had recently co-founded a multimedia production company and commercial YouTube channel called Geek & Sundry. When Day noticed that Johnson had a copy of the D&D Player’s Handbook, she inquired about it, discovering Johnson was in a game with voice actors like Mercer (whom Day already knew). Day immediately asked the group to consider streaming it as a show on the channel.
While the idea was enticing, the group was concerned about taking their fun private game public. “Whenever you put something you love on the internet, there’s a very good chance that the internet is just going to tear you apart,” Mercer says. “So we had a real fear of it possibly tainting something that was so personal to us.”
Actress Marisha Ray echoes Mercer’s concern that it would destroy something they loved. “We all kind of took a vow at the table that if it wasn’t fun or it started compromising friendships or anything like that, that we would quit because it’s not worth it,” she says.
The group decided that if they were going to do it, then the format should provide as little disruption to the game flow as possible. Streaming on Geek & Sundry’s Twitch channel allowed for more free-form broadcasts before being archived on the YouTube channel, allowing great convenience and flexibility for the actors’ busy schedules.
Even though the format was set, the group was concerned that nobody would want to sit and watch people play Dungeons & Dragons for hours on end. “I think we just thought, ‘Well, whether or not people watch it, we’ll just try this and it’ll be an adventure, and if nobody watches it, we’ll just go back into the living room and play it,” Johnson says. “No big deal.'”
Despite the cast’s concerns, the show has resonated with fans of both tabletop games and the personalities. The initial episode has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube. Subsequent episodes have hundreds of thousands of views.

“The amazing thing is that it’s just blown up…not only for them being famous voice actors and amazing performers, but their love of D&D is so authentic,” Day says. “It’s really important to Geek & Sundry because it’s our flagship show, and support really anchors our live-stream programming that’s every single day.”
When I ask Mercer why he thinks it has resonated with so many people, he laughs in be wil derment. “I don’t know, man!” he says. “For a lot of older gamers who don’t have the time to play anymore because of work and family and responsibilities, this is their kind of game-by-proxy. They can listen to the adventure like a radio play, or watch it and still feel like this is part of their own adventure, so this is an outlet for that thing they miss.”
Travis Willingham, who plays Grog Strongjaw in the campaign, thinks one of the reasons it has been such a hit is because it helps further smash the early stereotypes associated with D&D. “There was a stigma for a long time for people who would play D&D – this basement-dwelling, mouth-breathing thing, and that’s not the case at all,” he says. “Our cast, the group of our friends is just made up of jocks and voice actors and directors and people who come from all backgrounds.”
With so many backgrounds in play, Critical Role is also helping to push away the outdated stereotype that D&D is a game only men play. “I think having this kind of visibility of seeing a game with a diverse cast with men and women and seeing the different aspects of the game that we bring to it makes a huge difference,” says actress Laura Bailey. “A lot of girls have written me on Twitter or on Facebook and said, ‘I never knew this was something I was allowed to do, and now that I’ve seen you guys playing, I’ve started actively finding a group. I went to a local game shop and I found people that are playing, and I’m now playing D&D regularly.'”
For Johnson, the misconception that the game was only for men prevented her from checking Dungeons & Dragons out sooner, but breaking down walls isn’t the only reason she’s glad Critical Role has strong female representation. “I think it definitely changes the dynamic of a game if you have a co-ed game, and I think it brings a lot of different arcs to the storyline that you’re playing,” she says.
The game has been running since March 2015, garnering hundreds of thousands of viewers every week, but one major mystery remains: What happens when this game ends? When I ask that question to each cast member, they all give some variation of Bailey’s answer – “I have no idea!”
“I know a lot of people are nervous about their characters dying,” Willingham says. “If I die, hopefully it’s in a blaze of glory, and maybe we’ll mourn my character for an episode and then some random-ass person comes walking into your world and joins the train.”
Though the mystery looms, Mercer is looking forward to whatever comes next. “Whoever survives will be sunsetted into legend,” he says. Then we’ll maybe take a little break, play a couple of small games in other systems to cleanse the palate, and maybe begin a whole new journey with level one characters.”
Johnson doesn’t know what’s next for Critical Role either, but she knows playing with this group of friends has given her a lifelong appreciation of Dungeons & Dragons. “If this game ends we would maybe start a new campaign or just go back to the living room and start from scratch,” she says. “I don’t feel like this group of people will ever stop playing D&D with each other, whether it’s this campaign or another one.”

Blue was a quiet child…
Often keeping to herself
She spent much of her time hanging by her people’s river Centai, in the forest of Kay na rue.
Blue’s father was a Fighter of the Kay na rue Legion, protecting their people from the many dark elements of the world…
Most stemming from the Humankind.
Thus her people forbid interaction with the humans, other than in battle.
Blue did not listen.
Though she has yet to actually interact with one, she did find herself drawn to the Druid ceremonies that took place only 5 miles away from her home.
Within the forest of Fern.
She felt that she truly belonged amongst them.
But beyond the fact that her people forbid interaction within Humankind, it was also known that no Elves were allowed to be Druids.
Many of the Elves of the lands felt Druids were Humans who longed to connect to the Forests the way the Elves naturally did…
The Elves in turn felt that Humans were not worthy.
Blue did not agree…
She felt that the great Mother called to those that belonged…
And that the Humans who answered this calling were merely doing the Mother’s work.
None the less, Blue studied the ways of the Druid from afar…
Her quiet, and stealthy ways, coupled with her heightened Elven senses, made it possible without her ever being seen.
Blue is an Initiate of the First Circle and has decided it best to leave her home, and share her ways in a pain stricken world.
Accompanied by her grey Falcon Nor, she would do her best.
