CHAPTER XV – To Slay A Dragon

Priminus invited the ever growing group of Blue Party members to stay the night before they sorted out whatever it was they would sort out.

In the middle of the night Blue couldn’t sleep, and thus walked the halls a bit, ending up on the roof of the Tower, where the Hippogriff are kept, and sleep.

To her surprise, Rune was sitting atop the roof, legs over the edge, pensively looking out over the land.

Blue quietly approached, and sat next to him.

“You’re up late,” she spoke…

…he turned to face her, “As are you.”

“Yes… Well… All this traveling, and battling, but no real time to think,” she explained.

“Agreed…” he replied.

Blue noted something different about Rune, “What is it Rune?”.

“I’m going to go after Sabre and Madrean…” he stated.

Blue seemed taken aback, “But why? You heard what Aden said, Madrean is set, as Sabre is to protect him.”

“I know…” he spoke with a soft, yet convicted smile, “I’ll head towards Mount Ridge in the morning,” and with this he stood.

“Palidans,” suddenly came a voice from the shadows, surprising both Rune and Blue.

Into the light stepped Priminus and Kurai.

“If it’s one thing I know about Paladins, they long to protect… No matter the cost to themselves,” continued Priminus.

“I approached Priminus,” suddenly spoke Kurai… “He’s offered to loan us his Hippogriffs in order to catch up to Sabre and Madrean.

“Us?” questioned Rune.

Suddenly Torme stepped out of the shadows, “With the size of this group, we might actually have a shot at taking down Droah,” he added.

“We have better than a shot,” spoke Syn who also appeared… Beside her the silver armoured Warrior, Sylva.

“I’d like to join you, if that’s alright… No charge,” Sylva requested.

“As would I,” spoke Aden, the last to appear.

“You have a chance… But a little help wouldn’t hurt,” spoke Priminus.

Suddenly two of the Hammen Swordsmen appeared carrying a long box, maybe 5’ long, and 1” wide.

They sat it on the ground, and Priminus took a gold key from around his neck, kneeled before it, and unlocked it.

What was in it was astonishing to the eyes…

… A long red silver blade, with a Dragon Head handle on it.

“The Barom Draconen,” spoke Sylva, his eyes widened.

“I thought that but a Myth,” added Syn.

Priminus held it in the moonlight, where it flared, and flickered silver red light.

“My father used to speak of it in his stories,” Blue jumped in, “But I never suspected it was actually real…”

“It’s real alright… Even I remember that,” spoke Kurai.

“This is not a gift… It is a loan,” explained Priminus.

“But who will wield it?” and with this, they all looked at Rune who had remained utterly silent, though his eyes, like Sylva’s, were also wide.

“Not I… We’ll bring it to Sabre,” Rune quickly replied to their gazes.

“It must be you Rune,” added Priminus as he stepped towards him, the blade glowing and sparking, demanding all who stood there’s attention.

“It must be you Rune,” spoke Kurai under her breath.

Priminus held out the blade to Rune, and he licked his Dragonsborn lips, and took it into his large hand.

As he did, a surge of energy, and magic ran through him, like he’d never known, “By the Gods…”

One of the two Hammen Swordsmen brought over a solid silver sheath, and handed it to Rune.

Rune was quick to sheath it, and then attached it to his belt.

Rune then kneeled before Priminus, “I will not let you down Priminus,” he vowed.

Priminus touched his chin, indicating that he should raise to his feet, and so he did…

“To face Droah has already determined this to be true… To slay him is another matter all together… Get out of their alive Rune The Protector… I have more for you to do in this life of yours,” he concluded, then turned and left the rooftop.

CHAPTER XIV – Aden

The Hippogriffs landed upon the Mage Tower of Priminus with a swoop…

Blue and Kurai quickly dismounted from the back of theirs, as did Rune and the hired Mercenary Warrior, Sylva.

Around were some six Gnome Hammen Swordsmen to escort them down the winding stairwell in the middle of the tower.

Each of the Three Mage Towers of Priminus had their own Regiment of some two dozen Hammen Swordsmen, though Hammen had no more than 250 Swordsmen across its’ great land in total.

These Mage Towers were only the start of what they hoped would begin a Campaign of Defense versus all that might try to conquer Hammen…

Tch ahm Ba er (1) (1)-1 2

To the North was the Blackwell Forest, and the Dark Elf Drow, lead by the Malevolent Prince Eradyn and his diabolical sister, Mora…

Their People were said to be one of, if not the most powerful force of Tch’ahm Ba’er…

And to the East, the Glane Boro Sands, inhabited by the Dark Tribe, and lead by Prince Tahab, who also has a sister, though her name is unknown…

The Dark Tribe prefers not to mix Races, and so for the most part, stay within their Borders… But whose to say they won’t expand their reach to include The Hills of Hammen… And more specifically, Port Hammen.

The Party is brought to the magical quarters of Priminus, one of the 3 Mages of Hammen…

He sits in the middle of a white drawn circle in the middle of the room… Little blue glowing Rune Markings all around it.

His eyes are shut.

“Sit,” he says without opening them.

And so Blue, Sylva, and Rune do as requested…

…Kurai on the other hand, finds a dark corner and nearly disappears.

Priminus peeks one eye in Kurai’s direction, than closes it once more.

Soon Torme has arrived with their horses, and is brought to the quarters as well.

He sits.

“Ah… Now that you are all here… How may of be of service,” speaks Priminus, as his eyes open softly.

He is a Gnome, with dark, lavish red robes, and a white ivory staff appearing to stand all by itself some two feet from him.

“My name is Blue, we-” starts Blue.

“I know who you are,” he speaks semi annoyed, “My question was, how may I be of service?”

Blue looks over at Rune.

“Friends of ours were to come here to gather information about Droah… The Red Dragon of Mount Ridge (See Map Above)…” explained Rune.

“Ah yes, the Dragonborne Cleric, Human Paladin, and Elven Archer… Continue,” replies Priminus.

“I think that they have made a mistake in attempting such a quest… I’ve come to try and persuade them to return…” Blue explains.

“For some that won’t be necessary,” suddenly came the all too familiar voice of Aden, who entered the quarters.

Without thinking, Blue jumped up, and hugged him tightly,”ADEN! IT’S YOU…”.

With this Kurai suddenly started to step out of the shadows, in some sort of jealous jolt…

…but then retreated back to them.

Torme took note…

Blue let go of Aden as quickly as she had grabbed on to him.

“I’m sorry… So glad to see that you’re ok… And that you didn’t go to Droah,” she spoke.

“Neither did I,” spoke the Dervish Syn, who entered the room as well.

Rune was quick to offer her an arm embrace, which she returned.

“What happened?” questioned Torme.

Suddenly Priminus rose, “Let us all discuss it over some breakfast.”

The Party followed them… Even Kurai.

THE DINING CHAMBER

The Dining Table was quite a sight to see…

At one end of the table, was Priminus, the Mage, who seemed to be perfectly content with his odd colored porridge before him… A blueish green.

Rune, Torme, Sylva and Aden on the other hand, spooned at great bird eggs, and forked pieces of meat.

Making sounds, that only men make…

Meanwhile Blue gestured towards Priminus’s bowl, “May I try a bit of that?”

Priminus smiled, “Of course,” and summoned one of the guards to retrieve her some, which he did.

She tried it, and her body felt a cool vibration, “My…” she replied.

Priminus smiled again, “Good… Right?”

Blue felt first dizzy, then exhilarated, “Oh yes…”

Kurai on the other hand, who did not eat, and wouldn’t have partaken anyway, sat in her chair, arms crossed, glaring heatedly at Aden…

…when she noticed Syn, who wasn’t eating, but instead had her boots up on the table, as her chair balanced back on two legs, stared at her with a gleam in her eye.

Not liking this at all, Kurai quickly picked up a glorious orangeish yellowish fruit, and tossed it at her…

Syn in response stuck her dagger through it, right out of the air, and pinned it to the Mage’s table.

Blue looked at Syn, then at Priminus who seemed amused.

“So tell us Aden… What changed your mind?” spoke Rune, as he finished his first piece of meat, and gestured for more.

“It was a fools errand… I fear Madrean borders on mad… I still believe him to be good in his core… But his judgment… Especially after our counsel with Priminus… I needed no more to convince me,” he explained.

“And you Syn?” asked Torme.

“I was only hear to protect the Archer for this lady,” with this she pointed her now clean dagger at Blue.

This seemed to embarrass Blue a bit.

“Priminus requested that we stay another week… And not wanting to be rude after all of his kindness, Syn and I agreed…” he looks at the Party, “And now I see why,” he says with a smile directed at Priminus who has finished up his porridge, and is drinking some morning wine.

“And Sabre?” spoke Rune.

Aden shook his head, “He won’t leave his side… I couldn’t convince him otherwise.”

“Tis madness,” interjected Syn, who was now breaking open, and eating the tossed piece of fruit, and smiling at Kurai.

Kurai couldn’t help but smile a little.

“What now Aden? Where will you go?” Blue questioned.

“I can’t say I know… And what about all of you? Now that you’ve saved me from myself,” Aden jests with a wink at Blue.

This infuriates Kurai, who now stands and is about to leave the Dining Chamber.

“So what’s your story?” Syn questioned at Kurai, which brought her to a halt… Her back still turned.

“A Shade, eh…” Syn continued…

…with this Kurai turned to face the confident Dervish.

“One hit…” Kurai draws her pure black blade, “One question,” with this she taps Syn on her studded leather chest armour.

OUTSIDE THE TOWER

Kurai and Syn face one another.

Syn with a great two handed axe…

And Kurai with her black blade.

The rest of them stand on one side or the other of them.

“Will she be alright?” questioned Blue to Rune, nervously.

“Time will tell… But I don’t think the Dervish will actually hurt her…” Rune replies.

“Maybe just a little,” Torme interjects to Rune and Blues dismay.

Kurai suddenly leaps through the air with imense quickness, almost appearing to hover to her opponent.

SWOOSH CHING

…but Syn is too quick, and knocks the girls blade asside.

“Come on girl… Again,” prods Syn.

She hovers quickly again, taking two swings…

CHING CHING

…both blocked.

“My turn,” speaks Syn.

SWOOSH CLINK

With one strike of her great axe, she disarms Kurai, her blade sticking in the ground some 30 feet from her.

“I’m told I was a Cleric… Of The Silver Bane Order,” answers Kurai her first question.

Syn smiles and nods.

Suddenly Kurai hovers straight up, 50 feet above the ground, drawing her bow as she goes.

“Amazing,” ghasps the Warrior Sylva.

“Is she a user of magic?” questions Aden.

“She is a shade…” speaks Priminus with a slight smile of delight.

Kurai releases her arrow, but Syn is too quick, tucking and rolling out of harms way.

She releases a second shot, and Syn knocks it from the air.

Syn reaches for her crossbow which is on her back, but it gets caught up in its’ straps…

“Damn it bow!” speaks Syn.

Kurai hovers down towards her blade, takes a shot which misses, tucks and rolls grabbing her blade, and holding a defensive position.

“Well done,” speaks Syn confidently.

Suddenly Kurai runs straight at Syn and leaps over her striking down at her shoulder, and gashing her.

“Ahh!” yells Syn, who grits her teeth, and turns to face her attacker who now stands behind her.

Blue jumps forward to aid Syn, but Rune stops her, “Let them finish.”

“Why are you really here…” speaks Kurai just as Syn is about to counter attack.

With this Syn throws her axe into the ground.

“A Dragonborne Paladin… An Elven Druid… An Archer and Ranger? This seems to be a promising group of Adventurers, don’t you think?” she replies.

Kurai sheathes her blade, “Yes… Yes it does,” she pulls Syn’s axe out of the ground and hands it to her.

Syn puts pressure against her wound, which is now being attended by Blue, “One to one girl… We’ll finish this another day.”.

Kurai nods, then heads towards the tower.

“Is There No Break For Us”, thinks Torme as the Party and a group of 9 Gnolls run right into one another, no more than 70 feet apart.

“GNOLLS! yells Torme as he draws back his bow…

But the Gnolls have already let lose their arrows!

One of them strikes Blue in the shoulder, almost knocking her off her horse, “Ahh!”

Two more shots miss her…

Meanwhile three arrows skim Torme’s studded leather armour, but non of it penetrates… Still, he’s shaken up

The final 3’s shots are knocked down by Runes shield.

“FOUL ANIMALS!” Rune yells as he rides at the Gnolls who shot at him, his great mace raised above his head, “EM PROTECTO!” he yelled as he went, his skin beginning to glow a white glow.

Blue pulls the arrow out of her shoulder, which is bleeding quite a bit, “Sebo Bori,” she speaks once more, her skin turning bark like, she stays back at first.

Meanwhile Thorme’s first shot strikes one of his attackers in the chest, it drops, but is still alive.

“HALT!” suddenly yells the Gnoll Leader in Gnoll tongue, which Blue understands.

“RUNE WAIT!” yells Blue in time for Rune to stop his horse before being in the middle of them.

Torme has an arrow drawn, but holds.

Meanwhile the Gnolls have lowered their bows, and look to the Leader, who has stepped forward…

Blue rides forward to meet him.

“They’re not to be trusted Blue,” speaks Torme as she rides off.

Blue brings her horse to a halt some 30 feet away, Rune now at her side.

“Life is too short… And I don’t wish to lose any of my people,” speaks the Gnoll Leader.

“Very well… Let us pass,” speaks Blue.

“Yes… Well… These are our planes… A tole would normally be required…”

“What is he saying?” questions Rune under his breath.

“He speaks of a Toll… But hesitantly,” she replies.

“Don’t give it to them,” Rune speaks.

“You hesitate,” Blue says to the Leader.

“For you I will wave it… Be on your way,” with this the Gnoll Leader waves for its’ followers to make way for the travelers.

Suddenly Torme, Blue’s gifted blade drawn, and glowing dark green, rides by Blue and Rune, and passed the Gnolls, as if testing the waters.

The Gnolls do not attack, but the Leader definitely notes the blade.

Next Blue rides through, then Rune.

LATER THAT NIGHT

“Here,” Rune places his hands upon Blue’s shoulder, “Healem.”

His hands then glow white, and Blues wounded shoulder heals completely.

“Now rest…” and so she did as Torme and Rune drink and laugh as Blue looks into the fire.

“So you speak Gnoll… Useful,” speaks Torme.

“I do… And I know that they’re a dangerous sort, especially due their numbers, but…”

“But you did well,” interjects Rune, “Torme here has yet to heal fully from our run in with the Bug Bears,” with this he drinks more, and laughs.

“I’m alright,” replies Torme who continues to drink as well.

“I’ll take watch tonight,” speaks Blue, indicating that her shoulder will be fine, and the two of them set down their emptied tankards, and find their ways to their layed out blankets.

Blue sits alone by the fire, missing her home… But more than that, missing the forest and the animals within it…

The Hammen Hills have shown dry weather, and many unfriendly humanoids… Her want is to help people… But so far, all she’s done is tried to stay alive.

CHAPTER VII – Gifts

That night as the Ranger Torme bandaged up his wounds, refusing to let Rune Lay Hands on him, Blue went and removed a long leather wrapped set of items, and brought them to the fire where Torme sat.

Rune was walking a perimeter of the camp.

“I have a couple things for you,” Blue spoke softly to Torme.

Torme, having finished applying bandages to his arm, looked up, “Hmm?”

Blue then unwrapped the items from the brown piece of leather.

First to appear was an 18″ black wooden box, which she sat aside.

Next was a fine long blade, which had a tint of a dark green glow.

Torme’s eyes widened, “You don’t mean to give me that blade?”

Blue looked over the blade,”It was my father’s… He is a Fighter of the Kay Na Ru, my homeland,” she hands it to him.

“I can’t take that,” spoke Torme…

“Take it,” suddenly interjected Rune as he approached and sat with them at the fire… “Use it to protect her… Be our Ranger!” he spoke with enthusiasm as he slapped Torme’s shoulder.

Torme hesitantly took the blade into his hand,”It’s weight is perfect.”

“Oh yes… My father is a fine blacksmith… Not to mention he doused it in the spring of our Healing Glade,” she explained.

“I don’t know what to say… I’m just a Mercenary Blue… I am no hero,” Torme explained, his eyes locked on the blade.

“Oh you’re more than that,” interjected Rune, “now take your turn at guard, while Blue and I get some sleep.”

Torme stood, “I don’t know what to say,” he spoke.

“Hold onto it for the night… Use it on your watch… See if it becomes you,” she said.

Torme bowed a bit, and walked away holding the blade.

“Twas a grand gesture Blue,” spoke Rune proud of his companion.

“I have another gift for him,” she lifted the black wooden box.

“Save it for now… Perhaps he’ll earn it later… He’s pretty overwhelmed by the blade,” spoke Rune.

“Aright,” replied Blue, who then wrapped the wooden box back into the leather cloth, and returned it to her horses side.

THE NEXT MORNING

Blue found a small metal chest sitting on her saddle, with a key sticking out of it.

She opened it, and inside it were three potions.

“She looked them over, and was able to determine that one of them was a Potion of Giant Control, one was a Potion of Clairvoyance, and the last was an Oil of Etherealness.

“They’re yours,” spoke Torme gleefully as he approached his own horse.

“For the blade,” he continued.

“I don’t know what to say,” Blue replied

“Say that you’ll take them… And as far at the blade goes, I shall hold onto it for you, but it is yours should you ever decide to leave the Druid life and become a Fighter like your father… Or if you have a son or daughter you’d like to pass it onto… Or if you just want to hang it on your wall…” with this Torme drew it, swung it about, “but for now… I shall use it to protect you, as Rune and indicated… He is right… I am your Ranger,” he finished, sheathed the blade, and went to bury the campfire.

Blue was left speechless.

CHAPTER VII – Bugbears

Blue finds herself sitting on her horse some 80′ away from a party of 9 Bugbears as a stare down occurs.

“Aden Was Right… It Was A Scout… And This Must Be Its Party”

As the Bugbears begin to scream and bang their spears and shields together, Blue begins to chant some words, “Hespen Bre Omes,” and the weeds and brush begin to secure 3 of them to where they stand, and one other is slowed but is able to move a bit.

She then turns her horse around and begins to ride…

The remaining 5 Bugbears begin to pursue her on feet, throwing their spears behind her.

Only one of them landing some 20 feet away, she appears to be just out of range of their spears.

Within a few hours Blue comes upon a disapproving looking Rune, with Torme right behind him.

She brings her horse to a halt, her horse obviously tired from riding at a faster pace than usual.

Rune and Torme halt their horses some 5 feet away from hers.

“Well… What have you to say for yourself,” stated Rune, more than asking.

“That I feel like the young girl who snuck away from her people to live the life of a Druid…”

“Hmf… Fare enough,” he replied.

“It will be night soon… We’d best make camp,” spoke Torme, who dismounts from his steed, and begins gathering wood.

THAT NIGHT

That night Rune and Blue sit around a fire Torme has made, as he then joins them.

“There are some tracks of Brown Bears, but I doubt they’ll bother us,” Torme spoke as Rune handed him a stick with some roasted meat on it.

“I didn’t feel right asking you two to join me, when-” Blue began.

“When your reasons are personal, I understand… But for the record, let us make our own decisions next time… For anything having to do with you is personal to me,” expressed Rune with one of his unlikely smiles.

Blue smiled back.

“You went for the Elf then… Aden,” spoke Torme.

“My reasons are two fold… But yes, he’s part of it,” she replied.

Rune stands, “Well, if we plan on leaving early, you two best get to sleep, I will go without tonight,” spoke Rune as threw his eating stick into the fire, and walked away.

The two of them did as was suggested.

THE NEXT DAY UPON HORSEBACK

“I came across the Bug Bears Party, there were 9 of them… And they won’t be happy to see me,” she told Rune who rode beside her.

Meanwhile Torme road some 100 feet ahead, checking the ground for tracks as he went.

Suddenly he rides back and joins them, “Bugbears… They could be anywhere around us… They know we are here,” expressed Torme.

Rune brings his horse to a halt, “If it’s a fight they want, it’s a fight they’ll get,”

Suddenly two spears strike Rune, one repelling off his Armour, one breaking through his chain.

“Ahh,” he hollered.

More spears pass by Torme and Blue, but do not hit them.

Torme draws back an arrow and sends it in the general direction of where the spears came from, but hits nothing.

Rune suddenly mumbles some words, “Em Protecto,” and a light white glow covers his skin.

He then cocks his head back, then forward and lets lose an acid breath as some of the Bugbears come into view, wounding 3 of them.

Blue speaks the words, “Sebo Bori,” and her skin suddenly turns into what looks like bark.

The Bugbears then draw their clubs and move towards the Party, 9 in total.

Blue reaches out her hands and once again, “Hespen Bre Omes!” and the brush around them entangles three of the Bugbears, and slows another.

Rune smiles at this, as he eyes the other 5 remaining, who appear a bit flustered by the magic.

He then raises his great blue glowing Two Handed Mace and rushes them!

Bringing it down squarely on one of the wounded ones, killing it completely, as there’s no other way.

Two of them go after Blue, but she easily out maneuvers their clumsy attempts to hit her with their spiked clubs.

Two go after Rune, one striking him, but it can not penetrate his platemail…

…and the last after Torme.

Torme then releases two shots, one after another…

…each taking out one of the two entangled Bugbears, who could not avoid them.

Rune captured by rage, takes an overly ambitious swing at one of the remaining attacking him, and loses the grip of his great mace, as it flies through the air landing some 50 feet away.

“DAMN!” he cries.

Blue seeing this, briskly retrieves Rune’s hammer, and tosses it back to him, “RUNE!”

…and to even his own amazement, he’s able to catch it.

The remaining Bugbears frothing stay after them, one of them striking Blue successfully with it’s spiked club.

“Uhh!” she cries, but is hardly wounded.

Torme takes a shot at the wounded one that pursues him, wounding it, but it keeps coming…

Rune his mace returned to him, strikes at his remaining attacker, wounding him.

Meanwhile Blue strikes the last entangled Bugbear in the back of the head, rendering him unconscious.

Two Bugbears continue after Blue, but she is too illusive…

…Rune however is struck again hard by his last attacker.

Blue then makes her way towards Rune, leaping on his back, she places her palms against his shoulders, “Yo Ro Hei,” and her hands glow green, causing his whole body to glow green, his woulds completely closing up.

Torme takes another shot, but hardly scathes his pursuer.

“DAMN IT ALL!” he yells, tossing down his bow, he draws forth his long blade.

His pursuer, starting to run out of blood, falls to one knee… And the others are unable to strike Blue nor Rune.

Rune then heads to the slowed Bugbear, and strikes him unconscious as well.

Rune’s attacker leaps in the air, striking down upon his helmet, wounding and shaking him.

One of Blue’s attackers comes at her, but she’s barely able to avoid his blows.

Torme, comes at his knelt attacker, and sticks his blade straight through his back, ending him.

“AHH!” he yells.

Rune whacks his attacker across the chin, shattering his jaw, it tries to crawl away, bleeding badly.

“STOP!” yells Blue suddenly, putting both of her hands outwardly.

“Let them go,” she speaks

The two remaining attackers stop, and look at one another confused.

“Go… Take your wounded, and unconscious, and go… This is your last warning,” Torme suddenly says speaking a fluent Bugbear Tongue.

The remaining conscious look confused, while one bleeds crawling away.

Rune then suddenly stands before them holding his great mace in the air, “LEAVE OR DIE FOUL ONES!” he yells, knowing they do not speak the Common Tongue, it’s apparent to all what he’s telling them, including them.

But they do not move…

With this Blue mounts her horse, “Mount… Lets go…” she speaks.

The remaining Bugbears do not attack as Rune and Torme mount…

…and they all ride off.

THE HAMMEN INN

Blue, Rune and Torme sit at a table, Blue obviously has drunk too much.

Meanwhile, Torme and Rune smoke upon long pipes.

“I was actually looking forward to meeting this Mage Priminus… But it would have been like we were following them,” she spoke as she rested her head on the table.

Rune takes a couple puffs, “It doesn’t matter what they would have thought… If you wanted to go, you should have said something,” he replies.

“I doubt we’ll ever see any of them again… Save maybe that Dervish Syn… She’s a tough one, I can tell,” interjects Thorme.

“Bar keep, three more ales,” hollers Rune, who is on his fourth tankard, but appears unaffected.

“Aden doesn’t belong with those two others,” expresses Blue, who than passes out on the table.

Rune carries her upstairs to her room, then returns downstairs to spend another couple hours speaking to Torme.

In the morning Rune awakens to find Blue isn’t in her room.

On her bed is a note.

“You Were Right… I’ve Gone To Priminus.”

“Blast Blue,” speaks Rune, when from behind him…

“She hasn’t been gone long… We can catch up to her,” speaks Torme.

CHAPTER V – Road to Priminus

Looking at the form of the Dragonborn Cleric, Madrean, one wouldn’t think that he needed the protection of anyone, let alone The Paladin Sabre.

Seven feet tall, scales of blue, with one green eye, one black…

…and at his side a Great Two Handed Mace, which seems to have a red glow… And a one handed Mace to match, also glowing.

His Armour was what was known as ‘Fire Armour’… No, whatever Order he served, they were not lowly financed… Thus the purchase of the overpriced Velvet Green Hat, which he now wore.

As the Party, now 7 large, began to get upon their mounts, Blue spoke.

“So this is it… I do wish you well with the slaying of the Dragon Droah,” she spoke calmly.

“It’s a fools errand,” spoke Rune under his breath.

“Ha Ha,” suddenly laughed the Dervish Syn, who seemed to be the only one to have heard Rune.

“We thank you for your good wishes… Fare yee well,” with this Madrean began to ride off.

Aden approached Blue, and kissed her hand,”Well met Druid,” he spoke with a smile, then mounted his steed as well.

“We wish you well wherever your journey takes you,” proclaimed the Paladin Sabre, who then turned and followed Madrean.

“Do you really think you can defeat Droah?” questioned Blue towards Aden.

“Only time will tell… I doubt it though,” he replied.

“I’ll come with you,” suddenly spoke Syn, “I’ve got nothing better to do,” she finished.

“No charge, before you ask,” she continued, with a smile, “other than a share of the treasure.”

Aden could tell there was no way to dissuade her, so motioned towards the rest of the group, and so she followed them.

“I will remain with the two of you,” spoke the Ranger, “also no charge,”.

Rune nodded at him.

“Goodbye Aden,” spoke Rune who held his hand high, palm out, “May the gods protect you.”

Aden nodded, then road off after them.
